Train was at the Xfinity Center in Mansfield, MA this past Wednesday, June 8, 2022. This show officially kicked off their AM Gold Tour, which also features Jewel and Blues Traveler. This tour is scheduled for 39 stops. Things will wrap up out in Colorado, at the famed Red Rocks Amphitheatre.
The night at the Xfinity Center kicked off with Blues Traveler. Of course, they brought the vibes with their top hits. Songs performed included But Anyway, Run Around, and Hook. After Blues Traveler, the Grammy Award nominee Jewel took stage. She also delivered a set of well known songs. She played familiar hits like Hands, You Were Meant For Me, Who Will Save Your Soul, and Foolish Games.
TRAIN’S SET
Train kicked their set off with AM Gold. This song serves as the title track of their new album, as well as the tour’s namesake. They went on to play Marry Me and Hey Soul Sister off of Save Me, San Fransisco. They also played 50 Ways to Say Goodbye and Drive By off of their album California 37. The covers and cameos that they mixed in are not to go unmentioned. Covers included renditions of Dirty Heads, ABBA, Steve Miller Band and more. Jewel and John Popper (of Blues Traveler) also came out to assist on a few songs throughout the evening.
To cap off the night, we got a three song encore. It began with a live debut of Fake Flowers off of AM Gold. Next they hit us with a cover of Dream On, a song by Aerosmith. Aerosmith is obviously a legendary band with Massachusetts ties. The night officially ended with Drops of Jupiter. This is also a title track, of the album released back in 2001. For those looking, here’s the full set list from the evening.
Train came out and put on an excellent performance. From confetti filled blasts, to tossing out a bunch of MEET VIRGINIA t-shirts into the crowd. This also included one he got signed by the whole band mid song. Pat delivered his signature catching of fan’s phones to take selfies from the stage. Afterwards he would proceed to toss them back into the crowd to find its rightful owner.
