Pink Talking Fish came to Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, Massachusetts on November 24, 2023. They were joined by Quadrafunk, who opened things up for the evening. Quadrafunk and frontman Mark King are no strangers to Soundcheck Studios. They were part of the venues very first show on October 6, 2018. It’s 8:15 p.m. and Pink Talking Fish’s performance is still one hour away. Several hundreds of fans have already filled the first floor and the balcony at Soundcheck studios. “The show is sold out” said the manager Tom Papp, who is talking to someone on his cell phone. Looking at the activities around the bar, it is definitely a good night for business. The excitement is all over the place. Everybody is waiting to listen to the group. Influenced by the blues infused Rock & Roll genre, Pink Talking Fish is one of the most popular bands on the East Coast. Featuring Eric Gould on bass, Richard James on keyboards, Zack Burwick on drums and Cal Kehoe on guitar, the group takes the music from three of the world’s most beloved bands and merges these three to create a fresh and exciting styles of music for fans.
THE SHOW
Eric, Richard, Zack and Cal are all more than just musicians…they are amazing performers. They play with passion, and love to share their energy with the public. Although the music from each song is different, it is easy to discover that there is the same spirit emerging from the four musicians on stage. The show was, without exaggeration, one of the greatest live performances of 2023 at Soundcheck Studios. For more than two hours, the songs go on and on. Nobody Home, Road to Nowhere, Life During Wartime, Great Gig In The Sky, The Lizards, Harry Hood, Free, Roses are Free, The Great Curve, Time, Burning Down The House, Roggae, Sabotage, Have a Cigar, Slippery People, Run Like Hell, Once in a Lifetime, and more! “A very pleasant night for music” said Joanna during our trip back to Brookline. Visualizing the show in my memory, Pink Talking Fish’s performance in Pembroke was fantastic for so many fans. For me, it was exceptional.

Pink Talking Fish will be staying busy through mid February. They have shows lined up in key states like New York, Colorado, California and Florida. They will also be performing at Cave Jam at The Caverns in Pelham, Tennessee. This festival is set to take place May 24-26, 2024.
