It was a rainy Saturday night. The weather would normally discourage anyone to go out, but not the fans of Pink Talking Fish. Despite the heavy rain, it was a sold out show at the Cabot in Beverly, Massachusetts. Located at 9 Wallis Street, this 850-seat venue hosts some of the hottest events in the scene, from comedians to live music. The concert on March 23, 2024 was a unique and special situation, with both keyboardists on stage together.
The group is led by Cal Kehoe on lead guitar, Eric Gould on bass guitar, Zack Burwick on drums, and Richard James and Steve Learson on keyboards. They are an assembly of musicians who love music, and put all their energy into their dynamic live shows. The stage lighting was an art form. It was the perfect set up that illuminated the venue and made a strong impact on the event. As a professional photographer, the stage lighting helped capture the audience’s attention. It also allowed me to see everything happening on stage. The place is not just a high-quality performing arts venue, it is a gathering spot for different activities related to art and music.
PINK TALKING FISH TAKE TO THE STAGE
The performance was exceptional. “A unique experience” said many of the fans after the concert. The discovering of some of the old and new compositions was part of the fun. “On The Run”, “Sand”, Slippery People”, Run Like Hell or Mike’s Song”, “Have a Cigar”, Once in A Lifetime”, and “Psycho Killer” were in the list of the songs that have been played to celebrate music in unique fashion. Pink Talking Fish‘s members are not just professional musicians, they are Phenoms. Although, the group has performed most of the night with its new keyboardist, the public has discovered that the connections were part of the success. Listening to the group live is always exciting. Together, Cal, Zack, Eric, Steve and Richard have created a style of music that is emotional, something fresh and exciting for fans.
