I’m still full after attending Quinn XCII (Mike 92)’s Tuesday night performance at Jannus Live. This was the final stop on his ‘All You Can Eat Tour’. Whether it was the famous venue, the artists’ performing or the starry downtown St. Petersburg evening sky., the night was a beautifully magical maritage of over a decade’s worth of work for the nights headliner.

The evening began per usual at any Jannus event. Eyeing the pizza for a solid five seconds as I walk by making my way around the venue. With this being my first Quinn XCII show, I quickly realized the people in attendance were a very dedicated and a friendly fan base. A standout group of people I met being a car full of people traveling from Arizona and California to catch him. They spoke about Jannus Live as I speak of Red Rocks and how they wanted to experience this venue and close out the tour with Quinn. I was impressed to say the least. I left with some new pals and a greater appreciation for my solo adventures.

THE SHOW

The opening act was a guy named Knox originally based out of Dayton, Ohio and his two mates. The three make up a trifecta of extremely groove-able tunes and stage presence that kept the crowd entertained and at ease. I really enjoyed the energy balance that this opening act had and would easily watch each of these induvial musicians live anytime.

It was now time for dinner to be served, as the stage lights shined onto an entire Diner set up. A neon sign with the wording ‘Mustard Mike’s‘ appeared as Quinn XCII hit the stage. With a twenty-song set, Quinn served up a deliciously long performance for a hungry and ready to eat crowd.

If you like I are wondering why a guy named Mike found the name Quinn or XCII even. Only after a college professor mentioned the acronym “Quit Unless Your Instincts Are Never Neglected” did he take on the name Quinn. The roman numerals ‘92’ represent his birth year. I found this interesting and a way of lucidly seeing how positive this man named Mike and his message really is. When artists speak of faith and love along with all the other real things that make up a life. It’s simply put raw honesty, and I deeply appreciate this about him.

The whole show’s theme came full circle when the merch booth had an actual mustard made by Mike for sale. It was delicious and I wish I had picked one up! To sum it up. I had an incredible time comprised of new EP’s, along with a whole discography of music from the past decade.
