Pete & Bas, British hip hop duo, released their debut album titled Mugshot on November 22, 2024. Pete Bowditch (78) and Basil Bellgrave (75) are determined to prove that you are never too old to follow your dreams and step out of your comfort zone. The two gained fame after going viral in 2017 with their first single Shut Ya Mouth.
Mugshot starts off with a pre-released single, T Pain. It was released on September 19, 2024. Next up are Bish Bash Bosh (released May 24, 2024), Mugshot Freestyle (released October 24, 2024), and Slap the Stick. This leads into the first of two skits featured on the album, titled Bosh. Action Man (released November 7, 2024), Goodfella, and Whirlybird follow up, before the second and final skit of the album Boot. There is then one more track, Stepped into the Building (released in 2023), before two remixes to wrap up the album. First up is a remix of T Pain, featuring the man himself. The album officially wraps up with a remix of Mugshot Freestyle, featuring The Northern Boys.
The duos voices throughout the album mesh together and bounce off each other perfectly, similar to Killer Mike and El-P of Run The Jewels. The beats throughout the album provided by Handsome Dexter and 91shots are definitely on point as well, contributing to the hard gangster tone.
