The Mallett Brothers Band came to Soundcheck Studios in Pembroke, Massachusetts on May 2, 2024. This show was part of their spring tour. The tour began at the Wolf Den at Mohegan Sun in Uncasville, Connecticut on March 29, 2024. In all, the tour will span 20 shows in nine states.
Defying the rainy weather, hundreds of fans came to Soundcheck Studios to listen to the show. The Jamie McLean Band, a soulful and versatile rock band that blends New Orleans soul, Delta blues, Middle America roots, and New York swagger, was scheduled to open the show.
The live shows are where the Jamie McLean Band really excel. The set list for that night is completely original and fabulous. They opened things up with Bring it on Home to Me. Love the One You’re With, Sledgehammer, and Virginia were amongst the fan favorites peformed. They closed their set out with Crazy About You.
Their catalog consists of Completely (2010), Sunday Morning (2011), Live at Gibson (2012), One and Only (2018), New Orleans Sessions (2019), Paradise Found (2022), and Live at the Bitter End (2023).
A fabulous night of music executed with brio by the trio. The Jamie McLean Band consists of Jamie McLean (Guitar, Vocals), Brian Griffin (Drums, Vocals), Chris Anderson (Bass, Vocals).
THE HEADLINER
For The Mallett Brothers Band, Spring tour has seen them rolling down the coast for several dates. Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina were some notable stops. They also played a bunch of shows in Maine, and all around the Northeast in general. This led to the May 2, 2024 show at SoundCheck Studios.
The American roots rock band (formed in Portland, Maine in 2009) played a terrific show to the joy of their audience. Luke and Will Mallett (vocals/guitar), Nick Leen (bass), Andrew Martelle (fiddle/mandolin), and Chuck Gagne (drums) make up the band.
The set list was rich and varied. They kicked things off with Last Man Standing . From there they mixed in top hits such as Low Down and Blue Ridge Parkway. The night ended with Livin’ on Rock and Roll.
“What an amazing show” said one of the fans as we were leaving the place. This was a fine night of music and we loved to see that the audience had a great time as well.
Mallett’s songs have been recorded by more than 150 artists including: Pete Seeger, Alison Krauss, John Denver, Arlo Guthrie, and Emmylou Harris. It was a historical moment at SoundChecks Studio, to see David Mallett’s songs performed by his own sons, Will and Luke.

KEEPING UP WITH THE MALLETT BROTHERS BAND
The Mallett Brothers Band will be wrapping up their spring tour on May 18, 2024 in Belfast, Maine at the All Roads Music Festival. They also have a date May 11, 2024 at the Blair Hill Inn in Greenville, Maine. After those last few shows, they then have a busy summer ahead. Most of their shows will be held in New England, but they will be doing a bit of traveling as well. New York, Michigan, and Ohio are some of the other states they will be visiting.
