Levitate Music Festival returned to Marshfield, Massachusetts to cap off Fourth of July weekend. The fest ran from July 5-7, 2024 at the Marshfield Fairgrounds. The weather for the most part was comfortable throughout the weekend. There was also plenty of food and shopping options. Art displays were seen throughout the festival grounds, as well as a skating ramp sticking to their surf/skate shop roots.
Day one of Levitate Music Festival 2024 started with acts like Neal Francis, Stolen Gin, and Dirty Heads. Mt. Joy finished the evening off. They performed fan favorites such as Astrovan and Silver Lining. They also gave us a rendition of Fleetwood Mac’s Dreams.
The second day of the festival featured a nice mix of local and national acts. G. Love & Special Sauce, Mark King Band, Joe Samba, and The Elovaters were some of the acts with local ties to perform. G. Love hit some of that Cape traffic that we all love this time of year, so Mihali (Twiddle) stepped in and helped out. We also got a glimpse of Stick Figure, who came out with The Elovaters to perform their song Gardenia. National acts included The Hip Abduction, Cory Wong, and Iration. Lake Street Dive capped the night off.
THE FINAL DAY
The final day was a scorcher, both weather-wise and the musical lineup. Karina Rykman headlined the Soul Stage, putting on an amazing set. The Style Stage had performances by Daniel Donato’s Cosmic Country, Ziggy Alberts, and Charley Crockett. The Stoke Stage (main stage) saw Little Stranger open things up. From there, Richy Mitch & The Coal Miners took over. Next up was Oliver Anthony, who was making his New England debut. Sublime officially closed out the festival. This new rendition, consisting of original members Bud Gaugh and Eric Wilson, features Jakob Nowell as the lead singer. This was also their first time performing in New England since joining forces. For the second day in a row, we got a Stick Figure appearance when he came out to perform Feel Like That with Sublime. The song was released on May 24, 2024 and features unreleased vocals from Bradley Nowell.
KEEPING UP WITH LEVITATE MUSIC FESTIVAL
Levitate Music Festival 2024 was once again an amazing weekend. They have already announced their dates for next year. It is set to take place July 11-13, 2025. In the meantime, Levitate Backyard is still going strong. There is also Levitate Flannel Jam on October 11-13, 2024.
