El Dub Music – First off, thanks very much for listening and for the kind words as well, I greatly appreciate it!!
😊❤🙏
I always try to bring the best of intentions with me wherever I go and whenever possible, and its always POSSIBLE, but not always easy!
I wrote many of these songs to be positive and uplifting to not only help other folks keep their heads up but also to help me stay up as well.
M – What is your favorite part of looping and being a one man band?
EDM – I love the artistic freedom to be able to create all of the arrangements and sounds exactly how I’m feeling them and the full expression of self that comes out of that situation.
On the other side of the coin, I often miss jamming with my old bands and bouncing ideas off of them!
M – What has been your favorite festival to play? What festival haven’t you played, that you would love to get the chance to?
EDM – There’s a place called “Harmony Park” in MN that is really my home festival grounds. I’ve loved every single festival that I’ve had the honor and pleasure to play there throughout the years. Shangri~La and Project Earth are the main ones there.
“Spirit of the Suwannee” in FL is probably my other favorite! I’ve played Hullaween there a couple times and that is an amazing festival for sure!!
Festivals are really my favorite places to play and I’ve played many of them in the US and a few outside of the country and if i could remember every single one of the names I’d list them all as my favorites!! 😄
I’d like to play Arise in CO and Cali Roots in CA
M – I know you’re into disc golf like we are here at DYFO, do you try to play different courses while you travel around on tour?
EDM – Absolutely! I tell people that I’m on a disc golf tour and I play music on the side to fund it! 😄
I try and play as much as possible and in as many places as possible!
I use an app called “Udisk” which has all of the courses in the world (I think) and allows you to keep track of your scores and the courses you’ve played!
Its fantastic and I’d recommend it to anyone who loves disc golf!!
Quarantine questions:
M – Your known to be a heavily touring artist, what are some of the pros and cons about being in one spot for longer than normal?
I’ve been able to start writing songs off of my new album and have gotten to spend a lot of extra time with my wife and two children so that has really been great also!
Cons would be that I’m not able to make as much income off of livestreams and merch sales.
I’ve been doing a live stream on Facebook every Wednesday at 8pm eastern time.
I also have cds available on line to purchase.
M – During the quarantine, do you find yourself more or less musically motivated?
EDM – I’ve been pretty motivated for the most part.
However, being in Ashville and the mountains makes it hard to want to be inside sometimes! The fam and I like to go drive around the mountains and find obscure hikes and streams to play in and around!
But I have written some new material for sure!
M – What are some of the things you and your family have been doing to pass the time during this pandemic?
EDM – Hiking, scenic drives, board games, painting, movies, video games (ps4), writing and playing music, exercise, yoga, meditation etc…
M – I usually ask what’s the must have snack on the tour bus (camper, van, ECT), but with what’s going on, I’ll ask what has been your must have snack during the quarantine?
EDM – Ha, well I dont usually eat junk food and try to stick to organic and whole food, however, my wife has been making cookies and buying chocolate candy so I’ve gotten a little off my diet! We had snickerdoodle cookies last night and s’mores the night before that!
