The Boston Fleet hosted the Toronto Sceptres at the Tsongas Center in Lowell, Massachusetts on January 22, 2025. The day before, the Fleet traded away Taylor Girard to the New York Sirens for Jill Saulnier. The Fleet got off to a fast start in this one. Alina Müller opened up the scoring 4:27 into the first period. The goal was assisted by Hannah Brandt, her third helper of the season. The Fleet struck again 17:48 into the first, with Emily Brown’s first goal of the year. Alina Müller and Sidney Morin grabbed the assists.
The second period was a complete 180 from the first. There was no goals scored, but plenty of penalties called. Boston was penalized three times, compared to Toronto’s two. Two of those penalties were matching Roughing minors at 12:38 into the period. The third period saw the scoring pick back up. Shay Maloney scored her second of the year for the Fleet less than a minute into the final frame. Alina Müller was credited with her second assist of the night. Blayre Turnbull scored for the Sceptres at 14:50, bringing them to within two. It was not enough though, as Megan Keller sealed the deal with an empty netter with just 14 seconds remaining.
KEEPING UP WITH THE BOSTON FLEET
The Fleet will be taking on the Minnesota Frost at the Xcel Energy Center on Sunday, January 26, 2025. After that they head back home to face-off against the New York Sirens on January 31, 2025 to close out the month. They also announced they will be playing two games at the Agganis Arena in Boston.
