On Saturday August 3, 2024, A Band of Brothers performed at The Cut in Gloucester, Massachusetts. The live performance was phenomenal. For me, personally it was a special night. I was there as an accredited photographer to shoot the event, but I was also present as a friend of Johnny Trama to enjoy the music.

A Band of Brothers, with Ryan Taylor and Johnny Trama on guitars, Dave Stoltz on bass, Thomas Arey on drums, and Matt Zeiner on keyboards were terrific. Listening to the music, the harmony and the vocals, the musicians were fantastic. They were just a gritty realistic rendition of the Allman Brothers.

I kept dreaming that I was seeing Greg Allman behind the keyboards. The musicians fed off each other to create an exceptionally realistic show. The band was having such an exciting time, and it just made the music better. It brought me back to a time when you could go to clubs and hear fantastic music and not have to pay huge ticket prices.

For two and a half hours, the band played a rich and varied set list. The audience loved the live show, and they wanted more at the end.

The set kicked off with Don’t Want You No More. They went on to mix in fan favorites like Blue Sky and Jessica. They wrapped the night up by performing Whipping Post. In all they played 17 songs over two sets.

Photographs and review provided by Joanna Gleason and Jean Senat Fleury.
